The City of Alamogordo Community Services Department and Keep Alamogordo Beautiful are once again sponsoring the annual Curb Your Tree recycling event in January 2022. All participants are asked to place their real Christmas trees in plain sight at the curb in front of their residence by 7:00 am on January 8, 2022. Please remove all decorations. Discarded trees will be picked up by volunteers and recycled by Keep Alamogordo Beautiful. Christmas tree mulch will be available for pick-up at the Alamogordo Convenience Center at 224 La Velle Rd beginning on January 8th while supplies last, please bring your own bags, bins, or buckets for pickup. Please note, the Convenience Center has regular tree mulch available year-round.
If you’re ready sooner, or not ready to recycle your tree by January 8th, there will be two tree drop-off sites available in town, the Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center parking lot located at 800 E 1st Street and the Alamo Senior Center parking lot located at 2201 Puerto Rico Ave. You can drop off your trees at either of those locations from January 1st, through January 31st, 2022, and you can always drop off your tree at the Convenience Center on La Velle Rd. daily 8 am to 5 pm.
If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Josh Sides or the Civic Center Staff with the Keep Alamogordo Beautiful office at 575-439-4279. Thank you for your continued support of Keep Alamogordo Beautiful projects.
