How do I find out if a property is in a flood zone?

Visit the GIS webpage, and select Alamogordo Public Map. In the upper right hand corner click on the Layer List Icon (3rd from the left). Scroll down and check the box for "FEMA_Flood_Zones_2018". The floodplain layer will turn on after a few seconds of loading. In the upper left search box you can type in an address and the map will zoom in to that location. You can also contact the Planning and Zoning Department at 575-439-4220 or email the Planning and Zoning Department.
