Notary service at the Public Library

A notary, or notary public

is a legally commissioned official who verifies the identities of the signers of legal documents. The notary also ensures people signing documents are doing so willingly.

  • Wednesday through Friday:  10 am to 4:30 pm
  • Saturday 10 am to noon (during curbside service hours.) Notary service is performed only upon availability when the library is open from noon to 5 pm.

Please read and follow these guidelines to ensure the best timely service.

  1. A valid state or federal issued photo ID is required. (Driver's license, state issued identification card, military ID, or passport) Expired forms of identification cannot be used.
  2. If your document requires witnesses you must provide your own. Witnesses will also need valid photo ID. Library staff cannot serve as witnesses and witnesses may not be solicited from patrons in the library.
  3. Documents to be notarized must be completely filled out in advance, except where your signature is needed.
  4. All documents must be in English.
  5. A notary cannot notarize documents that have already been signed. Please bring a completed document without your signature so that it can be signed in the presence of a notary.
