Mission Statement

The Alamogordo Recreation Center (ARC) aims to enrich the quality of life of our community by providing high-quality, affordable, and diverse recreation programs, facilities, and services that promote wellness, community, and fun for all ages and abilities in a safe and welcoming environment.

Hours of Operation

The ARC will be open Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, and CLOSED on Saturday and Sunday. 

Starting Friday, January 23, through Saturday, March 14, 2026, the ARC will be open for youth basketball games on Fridays until 7:15 pm and on Saturdays from 8 to 11 am and 12 to 3 pm. The front desk will not be open at this time. 

Division Description

The ARC offers numerous wellness opportunities, sports activities, park rentals,  various recreation programs, as well as some family-friendly special events that support the needs of our community and enhance the lives of our citizens.

It is essential to the enjoyment of this facility by its patrons and participants and to a positive work environment for staff and volunteers that patrons and participants follow the Alamogordo Family Recreation Center policies, rules, and procedures (links below).

• NEW AGE ACCESS POLICY - due to safety and supervision concerns, youth must be 12 years or older and have a completed MINOR Waiver form on file to attend sessions without a parent present and where allowed.

• Children ages 12 to 17 will not be permitted in the facility without a guardian unless a Minor Waiver Form is on file. No Exceptions! 

Recreation Program Proposal

Are you interested in teaching a recreation class at the ARC?! We utilize contract instructors for some of our programming. If you have an idea for a class, you can complete the Recreation Program Proposal form and email it or bring it to the ARC. Once one of our recreation coordinators has looked it over, we'll reach out to you to discuss the details. 

Registrations & Rentals

Youth Activity Sponsorship

Activity sponsorship is available for children of families in need. Qualification for an activity sponsorship is based on annual family income level and is contingent upon fund availability. Please contact Alamogordo Recreation Center at 575-439-4142 for further information.
